There are a number of ways to connect with the mission and vision of Asbury UMC through various service opportunities, special events, and missions projects. Below, you will find some of the current announcements and a calendar of events for things going on in and through the ministry of Asbury.

  • Asbury Serves the Banquet west september 26

    Please join us as we serve at Banquet West, 710 North Marion Road, on Tuesday, September 26. Five volunteers are needed at 2:00 p.m. to prepare the meal along with 12 volunteers at 5:15 p.m. to serve our guests. Sign up hereCash donations are welcome. Place your gift in the offering plate marked “The Banquet” or give online.

     

     

  • Adopt a Teacher/Classroom

    We are looking for a few more volunteers to participate in our Laura Wilder Adopt a Teacher/Classroom project. Volunteers are partnered with a LW teacher for this school year to build a relationship with the teacher and students by praying for them, sending notes of support and encouragement, and providing small gifts, etc. An optional activity would be to volunteer in the classroom.   • confirmation begins october 4

    All students in grades 7 and up are encouraged to sign up for confirmation. Join us on October 4 at 6:00 p.m. in Room 006. Email Emily at youth@sfasbury.org for more information.

     

  • New Sunday Schedule!

    As a part of Asbury’s Commit Campaign Strategic Plan, one of our goals was to establish new Sunday morning service times to facilitate improved hospitality, building and parking lot flow, and worship engagement. In light of the results of a congregational survey and consequent analysis and discussion, our Sunday morning schedule is as follows:


    8:00- Traditional Service

    9:15- Traditional Service

    10:15- Adult Groups

    11:00- Non-Traditional Service


    Asbury's online services have also changed to this new schedule on the following platforms:

  • Children's Church on Sunday mornings

    Children (Kindergarten-5th Grade) are invited to Children’s Church in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the Children’s Message at the 9:15 and 11:00 a.m. worship services. Children will continue to explore the Children’s Message through various activities such as science experiments, interactive story-time, crafts, cooking, etc. Children’s Church will be dismissed when worship is over. There will no longer be Sunday School for children between worship services.

  • Asbury's Farmer's Market

    The Missions Team is once again hosting a Farmer’s Market on Sundays before and after worship through September. Gardeners are invited to bring their extra produce and others can stop by and pick up something to take home and enjoy. A freewill offering will benefit the Rice Meal Packing event with Midwest Missions Distribution Center held on September 17. 

  • Asbury Facebook campus

    We're excited to invite you to join Asbury's Facebook Campus, Asbury's primary hub for online ministry, where you will find things like staff check-ins, Wednesday Worship, volunteer resources, Bible studies, and much, much more. 


    Joining the Asbury Facebook Campus will ensure that you encounter opportunities to experience life-change with Christ by loving and accepting all, nurturing your discipleship, and serving others no matter where you are joining us from.   • Serve at Asbury!

    There are a number of ways to experience life-change with Christ by serving others at Asbury by getting involved in one of Asbury's Ministry Teams! Opportunities involve hospitality ministries such as ushers and greeters, music ministries, discipleship ministries, digital ministries, online service hosts, and more.   • All Church Charge Conference

    Asbury's annual All-Church Charge Conference was held on Monday, November 28, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. with District Superintendent Rebecca Trefz leading the meeting. We gathered with members of Wesley UMC and Hilltop UMC for a message and discussion before dispersing for conversations with each of our congregations separately.
