  • February Mission Project- MMDC Cleaning Kit Supplies

Our mission project for the month of February is Cleaning Kit supplies for Midwest Mission Distribution Center. Cleaning Kits were needed this summer to assist families with flooding in Iowa and then in the southeast this fall when hurricanes hit. These storms left the shelves at MMDC empty. The following items are needed and can be dropped off in the tub by the church office: laundry detergent (32-64 oz), liquid dish soap (16-34 oz), work gloves with leather palms, kitchen gloves, heavy-duty trash bags or contractor bags (2+ mil thickness). Cash donations are also welcome! Thank you!

  • Midweek Meal February 19

Asbury will provide a Wednesday evening meal for the whole family to enjoy on Wednesday, February 19 from 5:15-6:15 p.m.! For a free-will donation, let us take meal planning off your plate and put it into our kitchen! We will serve burrito bowls so bring the kids and join us!

  • Family Game Night

Join us on Friday, February 21 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. for a family game night in the Asbury Fellowship Hall. This event is open to people of all ages and you are invited to bring a game or two with you. The Children's Ministry Team will serve pizza as a part of the evening. • Cultures of Respect: Re-Righting History

Join us on Wednesday, February 26 at 6:00 p.m. in the Asbury Fellowship Hall for a presentation and discussion with Dr. Larry Brendtro reflecting on how we can live together in harmony and respect. Larry will preview a forthcoming book he co-authored with Martin Brokenleg. The book contrasts the two types of societies that have arisen across the millennia of human history: "Cultures of Respect" where people work together to meet the needs of all in the community, and "Cultures of Domination" where people struggle to gain power over others. How did Europe become a Dominator Culture plagued with violence, racism, and religious conflict? What lessons from Indigenous peoples and from new findings of science can help us reclaim the core democratic values of living together in harmony? Join us for this important conversation and invite a friend.
