  • Advent Workshop

The Children’s Ministry team is excited to announce the 2022 Advent Workshop! You are all invited to join us on Sunday, December 4, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall for an afternoon celebrating the start of Advent! There you will find crafts, music, treats, and more! This is a family event so all children must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older. Register here before November 30. If you would like to host a craft supplied by the Children’s Ministry Team or bring one of your own to share, please sign up here.

Before our afternoon of celebrating the start of Advent during the Advent Workshop, let’s share a meal together! Whip up a pot of your favorite soup and bring it along to share during the Soup & Sandwich Social Hour! Serving will begin at 12:00 p.m. We ask for all who bring a soup to register here before November 30, so we can make sure we have plenty of room for serving and so we can make signs for all soups.

  • Gifts for Laura Wilder Elementary

Help us spread holiday cheer by purchasing indoor recess games and activities for 19 Laura Wilder classrooms. Click here to find gift suggestions from LW teachers. Please note the teacher's name and grade level. Wrap the gift, tag it with the teacher's name and grade level and bring it to the church and place it under the tree in the Hospitality Room. Online orders can be delivered directly to the church, just remember to include the teacher's name and grade level as a note when you order. All gifts need to be at the church by December 11. Thank you!

  • Cayman Court Christmas Gifts

Asbury continues our long-standing tradition of providing Christmas gifts for residents of Cayman Court Assisted Living Facility. Cayman Court provides permanent, supportive housing for individuals with severe mental illness and who are/were homeless. Services include on-site psychiatric and case management services, housekeeping/laundry, transportation, planned activities and 3 meals each day.

Click here to view requested gifts and select one or more that you would like to purchase. Please note the ID number next to each gift. Each gift should be wrapped and have a tag on the outside with the gift ID number along with your name. Place gifts under the tree in the sanctuary by December 11.

  • Star of hope worship

You’re invited to join us in-person or online for our annual “Star of Hope” worship on Wednesday, December 7, at 6:15 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Retired Pastor Howard Grinager will share the message. We will gather in the Sanctuary for a time of worship. The service will also be live-streamed on the Sioux Falls Asbury UMC Facebook Campus.

The approaching holidays bring a sense of “hustle and bustle,” yet there also seems to be a need to pause to accommodate grief – past and present. This service is intentional in addressing those who may be feeling a sense of loss. We hope and pray that this worship will create a time to reflect and accept where we are this year while offering hope, peace, joy, and love. Invite a friend!

  • Christmas Eve at Asbury

Join us in-person or online December 24 for Asbury’s Christmas Eve services! We will have three Christmas Eve services with a traditional service at noon and two blended services at 5:00 and 6:30 p.m.. All services will include candlelight with nursery available. We will also be live-streaming the 5:00 Service at and the Asbury Facebook Page. We hope you’ll make your plans to join us and consider who you might invite to celebrate the birth of Christ in person or online.
