There are a number of ways to connect with the mission and vision of Asbury UMC through various service opportunities, special events, and missions projects. Below, you will find some of the current announcements and a calendar of events for things going on in and through the ministry of Asbury.

  • School Bags for MMDC

    Asbury’s Missions Team would love to invite any sewers to help sew cloth bags that will be used to collect Student Kits for Midwest Mission Distribution Center (MMDC) in August. Sewers are invited to pick up or download a pattern and fabric is available outside the church office or you can use fabric you have at home. Fabric donations are also welcome and can be dropped off in the container by the church office. The recommended fabrics are denim, corduroy, sailcloth, medium-heavy drapery, and light upholstery.

  • Scuba VBS Items Needed

    Our decorating team could use your help! We are looking for the following items: Bottlecaps of ALL sizes, Spray Foam Insulation, Pool Noodles and Wrapping Paper Tubes. We’ll be collecting throughout the month of June. All items can be placed in the tub outside Michelle’s office.

  • Youth at wild water west

    Wednesday, June 26, 4:00-7:00 p.m. 


    Join us for some fun in the sun at Wild Water West! Meet at Asbury by 3:15 p.m. to carpool. (Don’t forget your towel and sunscreen!)

     

  • Kingdom assignments

    Elaine Roberts’ Kingdom Assignment – Terry Redlin Food Pantry: The Terry Redline Food Pantry continues to bless around 30 families each Tuesday afternoon. Wesley UMC continues to supply the pantry with milk each week through a grant from the Dakotas United Methodist Conference and donations. Wesley UMC and King of Glory church provide the volunteers each Tuesday. Your help is needed to turn $100 into milk money for the next school year by donating to the Wesley United Methodist Church – Milk Fund. Donations may be sent directly to Wesley UMC, 1700 E. 6th, Sioux Falls, SD 57103 marked for the Milk Fund. Or send donations to Elaine Roberts, 3920 S. Terry Ave., Apt. 42, Sioux Falls, SD 57106.


    Vinny Campbell-Morrison's Kingdom Assignment - The Transformation Project: Beginning on Sunday, May 19 Vinny Campbell-Morrison will be selling original paintings for a freewill donations to support the Transformation Project. The mission of the Transformation Project is to support and empower transgender individuals and their families while educating communities in South Dakota and the surrounding region about gender identity and expression.   • Scuba: vacation bible school 2024

    Sunday, July 14-Wednesday, July 17, 6:30-8:30 p.m. 


    Join us for Scuba: Diving into friendship with God. At Scuba VBS your family will explore what it means to have a friendship that lasts forever! You can expect a week full of faith discoveries, memorable music and epic adventures that will help you grow in faith! Vacation Bible School at Asbury is for the ENTIRE family!   • 2024 Camp Registration is open!

    At Asbury, we believe there are great opportunities to have life-changing experiences with Jesus at camp. There are a variety of camps available for all ages and interests through our Dakotas Conference Camps with more information available here. 


    Asbury is also committed to investing in those wishing to attend camp by providing camp scholarships covering 1/2 of the early bird registration. When registering, simply use Asbury's church code 120181CA. If you have any additional questions about scholarships, click here! An additional 10% discount is available to anyone who has not attended a camp in the last three years.

  • Serve at Asbury!

    There are a number of ways to experience life-change with Christ by serving others at Asbury by getting involved in one of Asbury's Ministry Teams! Opportunities involve hospitality ministries such as ushers and greeters, music ministries, discipleship ministries, digital ministries, online service hosts, and more. If you're curious about volunteer opportunities or would like to get involved, checkout our online serve card today!

  • All Church Charge Conference

    Asbury's 2023 All-Church Charge Conference was held on Sunday, November 19 in the Asbury Sanctuary. It was facilitated by District Superintendent Rebecca Trefz and a recording of the session can be found on the Asbury Facebook Campus or on Asbury's Vimeo page.
