There are a number of ways to connect with the mission and vision of Asbury UMC through various service opportunities, special events, and missions projects. Below, you will find some of the current announcements and a calendar of events for things going on in and through the ministry of Asbury.

  • Asbury online campus

We're excited to invite you to join Abury's new Facebook Campus, developed by our new Digital Ministries Team to serve as Asbury's primary hub for online ministry. While online services and outreach efforts will continue to be found on the existing Facebook page, the new Asbury Facebook group will be the new home for staff check-ins, Wednesday Worship, volunteer resources, Bible studies, and much, much more.

Joining the Asbury Facebook Campus will ensure that you encounter opportunties to experience life-change with Christ by loving and accepting all, nurtuting your discipleship, and serving others with more consistency online. We are excited to further develop this new space for ministry! Join the Asbury Facebook Campus here!

  • Spring Message Series: "What Lies Beneath"

As winter ends and the first plants and flowers of spring begin to emerge from the dirt, we will offer glimpses of how God is at work beneath the surface in our lives. God is active in ways that we often miss; ways that are both mysterious and hidden. Just as a tulip bulb is buried and unseen until the warmth of springtime begins to trigger life and growth, so it is with the movement of God. Join us for worship as we look at "What Lies Beneath" the surface and let's discover where God's activity is bringing new life in the world around us!

Masks are required for in-person worship services and physical distancing is expected among those in attendance. We look forward to worshipping with you either in-person or online!

  • Asbury Mission Trip to Tree of Life

The Asbury Missions Team is planning a mission trip to Tree of Life in Mission, SD from June 6-10, 2021. Cost is $300 per person and scholarships are available. The group will leave around noon on Sunday and return Thursday afternoon. All work projects will be completed on the Tree of Life campus. For more information and to sign up, please contact Cindy Nelson.

  • Prayer Partners for children and youth

The purpose of the Prayer Partner Program is to set in motion faith mentor relationships between adults and children/youth. By matching a child/youth with an adult in the congregation, we are providing the children/youth with another adult in their life who knows their name, loves and accepts them, nurtures their discipleship and models service to God and to others. In addition to praying, prayer partners are asked to connect with the child/youth at least one time per month through an appropriate means of communication for the age group (i.e. call, email, text, online virtual meeting, written note/card). The length of the commitment is one year. Adult Prayer Partners are still needed. The sign up for children/youth is closed.

More information and sign up links are available here.

  • gift card shower for elisha intern

Asbury is excited to host Catrina “Cat” Standifer as an Elisha Intern this summer. The Elisha Project is an internship program of the Dakotas Conference that allows students to explore their call to ministry.

Cat begins her internship on Monday, May 17. We will welcome her on Sunday, May 23, with a Gift Card Shower. You are invited to give Cat a gift card of $5, $10, $20 from your favorite restaurant as a way to help with food expenses.

Asbury will provide Cat an opportunity to participate in a variety of activities in the life of the church as a way to explore full-time Christian ministry. She will work 40 hours per week for ten weeks. Interns receive a stipend of $4,000 paid by the Dakotas Annual Conference.

  • End of the Year celebration for Children's shoir & sunday school

Although we did not get to meet in person this school year, we still would like to celebrate the end of the school year with the kiddos - in person! With modifications for safety, we are planning to host our annual End-of-the-School-Year Party the afternoon of Sunday, May 23, from 2:00-3:30 p.m., on Asbury's north lawn. Parents are asked to stay with their children this year to help ensure safety measures are followed. Please bring a blanket or chairs for your family to sit on, and plan to wear your favorite mask! Register at by May 15!

  • Worship Wednesday

Join us either in-person or online on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. for Worship Wednesday for a time of prayer, music, and a God story from a member or friend of Asbury. For those joining online, the service will be available on the Asbury Facebook Campus.

  • "Journeying Together" family Devotionals

Asbury's Children's Ministry Team is committed to equipping families to see their homes as the main place where discipleship happens for their children. One way that we are doing this is by providing families with a "Journeying Together" devotional book and additional resources to help families make the most of their time together through this book. If you didn't get one of the "Journeying Together" family devotional books from the church, you can get one by contacting the church office at or 605-332-8861.

  • register for camp!

Registration for the Dakotas Conference Camps are open online along with a full schedule and descriptions of camps for all ages! Additional safety precautions are being taken by the Camping Ministries to ensure a great experience for all campers. Camperships are also available for Asbury families. Asbury’s Church Code is 120181CA. Contact the church office at or 605-332-8861 for more information.
