Worship
I give thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart;
Before the gods I sing your praise;
I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name
for your steadfast love and your faithfulness;
for you have exalted your name and your word above everything.
Psalm 138:1-2
Asbury UMC offers a variety of worship opportunities each week. All services invite participants to deepen their commitment to Jesus Christ, grow in their faith and transform their lives in service to others. Parking is located just off Western Avenue. Childcare is provided at all worship services for children age 5 and younger.
What a Beautiful Day for Outdoor Worship!
We had a perfect morning for our Outd
oor Worship on the north lawn at Asbury UMC on Sunday, August 15. God blessed us with a beautiful morning! About 200 people worshipped under the trees. Backpacks, along with students and teachers, were blessed at worship. The potluck was a typical Asbury meal – fantastic!
Sunday “Traditional Worship” - 8:00 & 9:00 am
A blend of music, prayer and scripture form the foundation of these two services. Each week Pastor Kip presents a contemporary message based on scripture and focused on our mission of becoming disciples of Christ. The 9:00 service includes music by choirs (children, adults and handbells) and a special message for children. Holy Communion, open to all, is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. Coffee and fellowship in the Hospitality Room follow the 9:00 service. Sunday School for all ages begins at 10:15.
Sunday “Praise & Worship” - 11:15 am
Sing songs, both old and new, in praise to God led by our worship band. Pastor Kip brings the message each week and Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.
Sunday “Alive@5!” - 5:00 pm
This informal worship service is held in the Fellowship Hall. Enjoy a snack and a cup of coffee as musicians and lay speakers share their spiritual journey. Holy Communion is celebrated on the third Sunday of each month.
Wednesday “Chapel” - 6:15 pm
Our meditative mid-week chapel service focuses on Holy Communion. Members and friends of our congregation offer faith stories to renew and inspire all who attend.
