Serve the United Methodist Nightwatch Canteen
Asbury will have the opportunity to serve the Sunday Nightwatch Canteen on September 19.  If any group, committee or family would like to participate in this mission outreach or wish more information, please contact Allen Herrboldt at 361-3654 or amherrb@q.com.  Financial assistance is available.  Participants will find this a very rewarding experience.

Fix the Roof
Asbury has been dealing with leaks in the roof all summer.  We have spent over $4,000 in repairs this year.  The Trustees are seeking estimates for more extensive repairs that we hope will cost less than $5,000.  Please put “roof” in the memo line of your check if you would like to contribute to the repairs.  Over $1,135 has been received.  Thank you.

RENOVARE Spiritual Formation Essential Conference - Sat., Sept. 25 – Jeschke Fine Arts Center at USF.  Pastor Kip recommends this one-day event as a way to grow in your spiritual life.  More information about the event can be found in the Hospitality Room or at the bottom of our “Adult Classes” web page.  RENOVARÉ (Latin for “to make new” from 2 Cor. 4:16) is an international movement launched by Richard Foster, author of “Celebration of Discipline”, in 1988 calling individuals and churches to a life of spiritual formation – taking on the character of Christ through the practice of spiritual disciplines: prayer, scripture, fasting, solitude, service – acts of grace making us available to God.

What a Beautiful Day for Outdoor Worship!

Monday, August 16th, 2010

We had a perfect morning for our Outdoor Worship on the north lawn at Asbury UMC on Sunday, August 15.  God blessed us with a beautiful morning!  About 200 people worshipped under the trees.  Backpacks, along with students and teachers, were blessed at worship.  The potluck was a typical Asbury meal – fantastic!
