ASBURY UMC MEMBER LOAN PROGRAM

Once again the response and support of Asbury members has been extraordinary.  Several members of our congregation generously participated in this program to help reduce our outstanding capital loan.  By the end of the day Tuesday, January 31, we have had commitments of $75,000 that will be applied directly to the outstanding balance of the loan which as of January 16 was $93,630.  We can accept only $15,000 more in loan amounts for this project.  If you are interested, please contact Greg Robinson, Chair of the Stewardship and Finance Committee.  Once again, thank you for your generosity.  The Finance Committee has estimated that this program and the recent renegotiation of the loan interest rate will realize Asbury a savings of around $20,000.

Easter Basket Time
The Sunday school children will soon be putting together Easter baskets to be sold on Palm Sunday.  The money from the Easter baskets will be used to help pay for camperships for those going to camp this summer.  You can help by bringing small empty Easter baskets, Easter grass, coloring books, small stuffed animals, plastic Easter eggs, Easter candy, Bible book marks, books, bubbles, crayons, markers, paints and other items children would enjoy.  Items to put into the baskets should be new.  Please put the items in the large Easter Basket in the Hospitality Room.  Please bring your items by February 26th.

Offering Envelopes for 2012
Since more and more Asbury UMC members have discovered the ease of electronic giving we had a surplus of offering envelopes in 2011.  The Stewardship and Finance Committee made the decision to save money and not order new offering envelopes for 2012.  Any members who would like to change to electronic giving can email Financial Secretary Sarah Wagenaar at accounting@sfasbury.org, who will send you a card to sign up for that option.  Those members who would prefer to use an offering envelope can stop in the church office and pick up envelopes which are dated for 2011 but can certainly be used for 2012.

Asbury Serving the Night Watch Canteen in 2012
