The church council shall provide for planning and implementing a program of nurture, outreach, witness and resources in the local church. It shall provide for the administration of its organization and temporal life. It shall envision, plan, implement and annually evaluate the mission and ministry of the church. The church council shall be amenable to and function as the administrative agency of the charge conference. (p. 252)

Church Growth & Membership Care
The Church Growth and Membership Care Committees are concerned with people who are not members in any local church, the congregation’s own inactive members and care of all of its members. The Committees shall develop and implement ministries of member care, growth in discipleship and spiritual formation including the distribution of The Upper Room and other devotional resources.
Communications & Church Wide Technology
The Communications and Church Wide Technology committee oversees such things as the website, audio visual aspects of worship and software.
The primary responsibilities of the Children’s Ministry Team, Youth Ministry Team and Adult Ministry Team are to oversee the church’s educational ministry, including the general administration of the Church School. They shall assure that persons of all ages are provided with opportunities to study the Bible and the Christian faith and life, and facilitate the use of resources, which are based on curriculum plans which have been approved by the General Board of Discipleship. The Teams determines policies for the organization, guidance, supervision and the recruiting and training of teachers.
The Children’s Ministry Team, the Youth Ministry Team, the Adult Ministry Team meet as needed.
The Committee on Memorials handles all memorials, monies, acknowledges memorial gifts and assists people in selecting memorials that shall be of the greatest service to the church.
The Memorial Committee also oversees the Memorial Tree in the Hospitality Room.
The Missions Committee shall keep the Administrative Council aware of the purpose and needs of programs and institutions supported by the church around the world. It shall provide resources to be used in the study program of the church. It shall recommend means of keeping the church informed of the qualifications and current needs for personnel to serve through the church around the world. It shall develop a benevolence budget and submit it to the Administrative Council for their recommendation to the Finance Committee.
The Missions Committee meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the Library.
The primary responsibility of the Committee is to confer and counsel with the pastor and staff in making an effective ministry by being available for counsel, keeping the pastor and staff advised concerning conditions within the congregation as they affect relations between the pastor/staff and the people and the ministry …including sensitivity to open itineracy; …including priorities to be given in the use of their time and skills; …to education needs and plans. The committee shall be responsible for recommending proposals for salary, travel expenses, allowances, vacations, continuing education, housing and other matters relating to the effectiveness and well-being of the ministers and their families. Meets at least quarterly. (p.258.2)
Stewardship and Finance
All Financial Askings to be included in the annual budget of the local church shall be submitted to the Committee on Finance. The Committee on Finance shall compile annually a complete budget for the local church and submit it to the Administrative Council for review and adoption. The Committee on Finance shall be charged with the responsibility for developing and implementing plans which will raise sufficient income to meet the budget. It shall administer the funds received according to instructions from the Administrative Council. (p.258.4)
The Board of Trustees shall have the supervision, oversight and care of all real property; …and of all property and equipment acquired directly by the local church. It is the responsibility of the Board of Trustees to see that inventory of church property is kept current and that same is adequately covered by insurance. The Board of Trustees is the custodian of all legal papers. (p. 258.3) (p. 2524-2551)
The Trustees meet on the second Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in Room 106.
This Committee seeks to aid the congregation to become increasingly aware of the meaning, purpose and practice of worship. It shall recommend plans for study by individuals and groups in the art of worship, shall cooperate with the pastor in caring for music, ushering, furnishings, appointments, and sacramental elements for congregational worship and shall recommend standards for placement in the church of memorial gifts as aids to worship. It shall promote adequate musical leadership in the church and the coordination of the acolytes, ushers and communion stewards.
The Worship Committee meets as needed.
