Generosity Sunday Report
A total of 106 giving units completed Estimate of Giving Cards last Sunday. A total of 54 of these units (51%) increased their financial commitment above their last year’s amount.
The Cards we received last week committed a total of $341,296 to the General Fund.
Based on last year’s giving records, $121,264 can be expected for the coming year from persons who have established giving patterns but were not present last Sunday. We can also expect $10,700 from other sources. This gives us a grand total of $473,260 in anticipated income for 2019.
The Administrative Council proposed a 2019 General Budget of $527,563. We will seek to raise an additional $54,303 to balance next year’s budget. Thank you for your generosity!

The Lydia Project
Do you love to knit or crochet? The General Conference of the United Methodist Church will meet in Minneapolis in 2020. Every delegate, dignitary, bishop and spouse will be presented with a hand made scarf which will serve as a memento of the General Conference. Help is needed to knit or crochet 10,000 scarves. The scarves are to be made with royal purple acrylic yarn. (Think the royal purple color of the Minnesota Vikings.) Please do not use lavender or variegated yarn. The pattern can be the creator’s choice or you can get pattern ideas at www.dakotasumc.org/lydiaproject. The scarf needs to be 6-7 inches wide and 60 inches long. You can add fringe, but the scarf needs to measure 60 inches long prior to adding the fringe. After completion of the scarf a tag will be added to it which will tell the City and State where the scarf was made as well as the person who made it and the name of the church. Each scarf will be put into a Ziploc bag and brought to the 2019 Dakotas Annual Conference to then be taken to the 2020 General Conference. Please contact Trudy Baird at 360-9786 if you would like to help with the Lydia
Project or if you have any questions.
