Children's Ministry

At Asbury, we want to create a safe, fun environment for kids to learn about the love of God. Kids will hear stories from the Bible, learn to worship in song, and learn to love God and love others.

For more information about Children's Ministry, email our Director of Children's Ministries, Michelle Baird.

Sunday School

Preschool - 5th Grade

10:00–10:30 a.m. (September – May) at

Although we continue to socially distance due to COVID19, we are happy to offer Sunday School each week as an online presentation between the traditional and contemporary worship services.

This year we are Digging IN-to Foundations of Faith! This program lays the groundwork for what it means to be a Christian. Children and their families are exploring what the Bible reveals about who God is and how God sees us, how we fit in God's family, and how we live the Christian life. As Children begin to understand core concepts of Christianity, they'll gain a solid framework for their own relationship with Jesus.

Each Sunday, your family can expect a recorded production hosted by a member of Asbury's Children's Ministry Team that includes: a Music Video to get the juices flowing, a Welcome/Opening that introduces the lesson of the day, a time of Core Bible Discovery which digs deeper into the lesson, and a Family Activity to round it all out. During the live stream of Sunday School, members of the Children's Ministry Team will be online with you - to enhance the lesson, to answer questions you may have, and to cheer you on!

To help your family prepare for each Sunday's lesson, a facebook event will be published by Wednesday the week prior. In the description of the facebook event you will find information about the upcoming lesson such as a list of items needed for the family activity portion of the week's lesson. Reminders, as well as other Sunday School lesson helps and info, will be sent out via "Remind". If you haven't done so already, I encourage you to download this free app to your smartphone and then TEXT to 81010 with the MESSAGE @edh8g9.

As children grow in mind and body, they also grow in heart and soul.  This weekly gathering will nourish and enrich children in faith so they can proclaim the good news of God’s love and serve God and neighbor. Through mission projects, group activities, discussion, and Bible-ventures, children will realize their faith goes with them as they grow.  All children are asked to bring their Bible each week.

We had a great time with Rocky Railway VBS! Rocky Railway was a combination of online and at home elements where families explored Jesus’ power and learned that we can trust Jesus to pull us through when life feels like a valley or a mountaintop.

Rocky Railway VBS allowed us to discover why and how we all can truly trust Jesus’ power to do big things in our lives through these Bible Points:

*Jesus’ power helps us do hard things. Trust Jesus!

*Jesus’ power gives us hope. Trust Jesus!

*Jesus’ power helps us be bold. Trust Jesus!

*Jesus’ power helps us be good friends. Trust Jesus!
