On Sunday mornings, youth of all ages can be involved in Sunday School at Asbury. Classes meet from 10:15-11:15 a.m. during the school year (September-May). Youth Sunday School is broken up into three categories.
Middle School Sunday School (grades 6 and 7)
Middle School Sunday School meets downstairs in Room 005.
The purpose of this class is to allow students to dig deeper into the bible and look into how we can apply what we learn in the Bible to our lives as Christians today. Students in this class watch videos, do projects, have discussions, and participate in various activities together.
Confirmation Classes (grade 8)
The Confirmation Class meets on Sunday mornings.
Confirmation is a decision making process for youth to respond to God’s grace with intentional commitment by publicly reaffirming his or her baptismal vows before the congregation. Here at Asbury, we encourage our students to take part in our confirmation classes in order to take ownership of their faith and begin the confirmation journey . Students who take part in confirmations will be expected to attend weekly classes, and participate in retreats and service projects. They will study the Christian faith and applying what they learn to real life situations. This experience will help guide students along their faith journey and give them an opportunity to think about where God is calling them in the world as disciples of Jesus Christ.
B&G aka Bagels and God (grades 9-12)
B&G meets at area coffee shops where youth talk about how faith intersects with current events in real and meaningful ways. If you would like a ride, you can meet at the lower entrance by 10:15 am on Sunday mornings.
